Look at the language used today and look at the language used all throughout imperial rule in Britain. Kings held court; "judges" hold court. Nobility and royalty wore robes; "judges" wear robes. They're all lawyers, who were admitted to the "bar" - it has different variations so you never know which is the true name - the British Accredited Register/Registry/Registrar. It could also be Accreditation, who the hell knows, us layman sure don't.
It has been my belief for a while now that judges are British nobility, and lawyers are British agents.
