I’d walk in the house, and would be greeted with a disappointed “oh, there you are” I never thought about that, it was my normal. Until when I got older I did a dna test and realized I was (and still am) a bastard. Both mom and dad were hoping I would just disappear. Well, here I am, successful and thriving despite being my mother’s shame and my fathers embarrassment. (It hurts though.)
There is that, my dna test came back as Northern European, mostly English and Scottish with a little Irish and German thrown in for flavor. Absolutely zero African or the dreaded ashkenazi jewey which all the dna companies throw in for funnies.
A hilarious rabbit hole if you haven't heard this story: some guy got his pet lizard tested and it came back jewish LOL. I don't think that was them adding it in.
You know, that contributed a lot to my success. They housed and fed me as the law requires. I appreciate that, way better than an orphanage or an abortion. Thank my lucky stars it was illegal at the time. They took care of me. I appreciate that.
You know, you are correct. I was not exactly alone on the streets. All my friends were out there too, until the loud voice of their mother or father would yell out their name. Time to go. After they were all gone, I would wander home. My name was never called. (Yeah I know, worlds smallest violin playing for me, lol)
It was the same for me and all my friends and cousins. I thought they just hated kids, but now that I have my own, I realize kids can be loud and make messes. It's nice to have some peace and quiet sometimes.
I have a grandson who laments and beats himself up mentally because his mother was a piece of shit that didn't want him. I keep telling him that he is a lot better off without her around, but, you know, as a teen he gets all emotional sometimes. My prayers and goals are that he grow up to be as successful as you are claiming to be. My wife and I have custody but his dad, our son, lives with us. Sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes it's not. What are some of the things you believe helped you thrive.
I fell into success, I have no magic answer as to why I came out ok. I just made the right choices at every crossroad. There were times for tough choices. Other than thinking I had a guardian angel, I just chose what was right. What felt right, I chose kindness over anger. Even during war at my most frightened moments, I chose kindness. That’s the only advice I can give.
On a side note there were times in my life where a thought popped in my head out of nowhere that saved my sorry ass. I have no idea where the thought came from. It was just there in my time of need. What other conclusion could I come too, I’m just not that smart.
I recommend educating him on the nature of woman. He’s going to try to fill the void in his heart with the girls he’s going to meet. It’s a recipe for disaster. Point him to YouTube channels like strong successful male. It will prepare him for the world that awaits.
But I don't! I have a great relationship with my dad. You on the other hand, just told us all your parents didn't want you around.... care to share, sweet cheeks?
Holy shit son, that story took a quick turn for the worse.
I don't know how old you are, but my relationship with my dad was very much a late bloomer. If you had told 20something me how well we get along now, I wouldn't have believed you. Point being, there may be more potential there than you realize or is obvious now.

Sad confession, I’m still trying to wrap my head around this. Mom called one day and said dad is dead. I didn’t feel a thing. I just said I’m sorry for your loss. To this day I don’t feel anything about it. I cried when my beloved dog died, but this, nothing. I worried for a bit that I might be a psychopath and devoid of emotions. But no, that’s not the case. I’m kind to small animals, I treat food servers with respect. I just had no emotion when he died. Not my father.

It wasn't quite that extreme in my case. I know life was a lot more like this for my father. The shit they got up to growing up in the sixties...
I was growing up in the 90s, and it was still expected that you weren't going to sit around in the house all day. We'd usually go meet up with neighbor kids and play baseball all day. It was like Sandlot without the actual ball diamond. Even if it wasn't baseball, we'd always find stuff to do, whether it was climbing up on the roof of their barn or fucking around in the gravel pit down the road. We were going everywhere on our bikes.
We were still a little more domesticated, though. We were checking in half-way through the day and then showing back up for dinner. We also had videogames.
I noticed things getting really oboxious with the younger generations at about the time smart phones were becoming ubiquitous. At the start of the 2010s, I remember going to people's houses and seeing their kids all sitting around 'alone' with their cells, mouths open, just locked in. It made me uncomfortable back then. It still does. The only difference is that adults, from gen X to boomers have all started following suit. The amount of time people are spending glued to devices is ridiculous.

That sounds like good times! You got the best of both worlds. I think the 90s kids were the last to experience that. I made sure my boys grew up like that. They were 2010 kids. But I still, let them play outside and climb trees and such. But I had to be wary of “Karen’s” who would call the cops on unattended kids. I have pictures of my boys posing with the cops who did show up but understood.
I'm sure they took care of you...people fuck up in life. You take care of them in end-of-life, that's what counts. I'm not sure what it counts for though.
They did, but when I was 6 I got hit by a truck. Or as told by my friends I hit the truck. My friends ran to my house and told my mother I was dead. She ran all the way to the scene in her Jammie’s to find a truck driver holding my unconscious body crying. They rushed me to the hospital. I survived, I can still see the scar on my head. No big deal. Wait a second I almost died and no big deal? Clues where building up.
I only share with family and friends my DNA showed my dad wasn't related to me. But who gives a shit on a forum? Anyway had contact with people I'm related too and it was okay. No I didn't want to get wrapped up on new family drama because I don't have the time. Got grandkids and coached them in sports over the last 10 years...yea I'm really old. Don't get hung up on the past too much, move forward!
It looks like your specialty is making life miserible for others. You should consider "expansion" try an find your real Dad & your other family members. This is a trip that will never be forgotten.

How so? As far as existing I’ve done my best to help others. Staying out of their lives has made them less miserable. As far as looking for other genetically related relatives I’ve lived so long without “family” I don’t need to introduce more drama.

Imagine if you'd have been born a nigger, chink, spic or god forbid yiddish.
Count your blessings, bro. It seems you've done more than that.
