I truly do believe that there is some inherent power in runes. As children, my sister an I had watched Indiana Jones and we were mesmerized by the swastika. It seemed powerful; it meant something, even if it wasn't told through the story.
One time on a road trip, we sharpied them all over ourselves. Our parents went into a panic and spent quite some time trying to scrub them out.
I'm glad that many years later, I managed to get my mother to to accept the JQ, but my father is a lost cause.
I don't really have a point to make here; just musing.
Growing up the 60's it wasn't a big deal to have a swastika on your school notebook, most kids did. True story: in the late 80's someone spray painted a swastika on a neighbors shed and they suspected my son. When I pointed out the swastika was painted in reverse they knew he was innocent.

Had a similar experience growing up, drawing the swastika in my school notebook. My dad saw it and freaked out. One of the first places I saw it was on some uniform patches my grandfather kept as war trophies.
I agree, it's definitely a powerful symbol that they really don't want us using.
Next to the swastika is often found the wheel/circle of fortune and the garden of troy. A wheel thing with runes in it and a double-spiral thing that looks like the milky way.
Of course I can't find them on yandex right now. All I get are the tv show, games, and bullshit. By design no doubt.
