I've seen at least 2 fires started by E-Bikes charging overnight unattended... but never seen one pop while being handled. I wonder if he dropped it just prior to the explosion?

They can't seem to even make a battery for smaller devices that dose not fail within 5 years and they want to make huge battery's and expect you to sit on them for a few hours a day and then keep them next to your house for the rest of the time.

Just imagine an apartment carpark full of these things going up, the smoke alone will probably kill you in a minute

and they dont even explode once, they can just keep on exploding and even reignite and start exploding again when finally extinguished

I recently got one of those ROG Ally mini gaming pc devices and I've made sure to get the official charger and not going to game while its plugged in gaming and charging at the same creates a huge amount of heat, apparently its the heat and an obsession with charging it all the time that kills a battery.

at least i have the option this time to only charge to 80%, only going charge it when it gets low, really going to try make this battery last.

If it's heating up while charging, it's charging too fast. Charging too fast will kill batteries very quickly, and can offer up a runaway effect that leads to fire.

Making an e-bike out of my old mountain bike. That shit scares the hell out of me. I'll be getting good quality batteries and chargers and whatnot, but that thing will be outside.

Of course I have a much larger battery for the solar system so that's fun. A top-quality PV controller should keep it from going wild.

The main problem is that most batteries are from China. You can't get away from it. Even "made in USA" is a lie. They just make it 99% in china and pay a nigger to slap a sticker on it or tighten the last bolt when it gets shipped over.
