Best life advice I've ever gotten: "when you grow up and become an adult, nobody gives a fuck about you."

Have to take care of yourself and your own. Nobody gives a shit about your prosperity or happiness. Anyone who pretends to outside of your family and close friends is a liar and wants to manipulate you.

As luck would have it, I had this very discussion with Mrs. Fash yesterday (minus the "world is out to get you" bit).

As oriented toward family as she is, it wasn't difficult for her to picture being alone. I figure that's about as much as any man can expect.

Well let me rephrase. The world is not out to get you, but the pastors, politicians, and NGO "charities" that preach about taking care of people all have an agenda besides the simple goodness of their heart.

People who want to help you to help yourself are the ones who truly care.

disagree, helped a lot of people and am not expecting anything back. There's a limit to how much you can do; those close to you deserve the most from you.

Helped a lot of poor people

Sometimes you see someone struggle and it would be so easy to let them know how to overcome it, so why not? Or maybe you have an opportunity to help someone.

Trump also anonymously helped people.

Sometimes you see the joy people have when helped, sometimes not.
If you know someone is suffering, and you could stop that suffering whether they know it was you or not; how would you feel about it knowing you didn't, or that you did?

Yes though, many are just liars and do not give a shit.

And you have to assume there is not and will not be any help coming

Trump helped a LOT of people. He also donated ALL of his paychecks as President.

To help others, you help yourself. I donate many volunteer hours and I don't expect anything in return. That IS how the world is suppose to work. And, yes I am a firm believer in God. One can hope we return to civility someday.

Look uo Dunbars number. Each person who you recognize as being a human takes up space in your brain, you have only a limited capacity to care about others, most of the people you encounter will be registered more as objects to you than as humans beings. Like npcs in a video game.

I figured this out when I was a teenager. It's part of why I don't really care to hold onto a relationship with any member of my family anymore. If they want to talk, fine; if not, fine too.

I prefer to live by lifelong friends and hope their families prosper. To say close friend's don't care about you is a lie. It's usually just less than the relationship you have with blood relatives and close family.

Care about your neighbors and their well being. The community you live in matters. White people things.
