Are we done with the cloud software now? I know plenty of you are consumerists and will never forego those dopamine hits willingly, so you will make us all suffer.

I believe it should be okay for people to use windows or linux if that's their choice.

Seriously just use an older version of windows if you want to use windows. Make sure you know about its vulnerabilities and you'll be fine.

8 and 10 were worthless bloatware that functionally added nothing of value.
11 is actual malware as can be seen.

Absolutely on point

Have you not actually done the thing you're saying? Some of the updates deliberately degrade the performance of the computer.

Furthermore, you cannot simply install older versions of windows on new hardware. It's rigged to not be compatible and break.

This has been the case for a long time. You sound like (yet another) person who says things to get head pats but never actually puts in the LARGE amount of work to properly test these things. These things are not simply done, and stop talking like you know things that you don't.

I have a desktop made of mostly hand-me-down parts as friends continuously upgrade their PC. The parts are all recent, as in from the last few years, but is running a pirated version of windows 7.

The only issue so far is it doesn't have a wifi card so I have to manually hook it up anytime I wan to download anything on it.

Depending on the hardware they may not have dropped support for older versions of windows, you have to check. If they have drivers for windows 10 they tend to work for windows 7 if manually installed.

However, what you said will eventually come true unless a community of backporting drivers to older versions of windows forms which is unlikely. At which point a Linux distro with a windows emulator will be the safest and fastest form of windows available.

choice is bad

Bad choices are bad, but in the greater scheme of things there are no good choices anymore. Choosing the Mac OS is 'less bad', but you're still using the technology of electronics, which is anti-human. Even Mac choosers have probably supported jewish supremacy in order to purchase their M3 iMac, or whatever.
