A legend and by every account, a hell of a nice guy.

People don't know this but Bob newhart was the first person to ever put out a comedy album. I think it was called the complicated mind or something like that (the buttoned down mind) and it sold millions of copies. He invented the industry of comedy albums. You can sometimes find it on streaming sites and I don't have the correct title there but it's something like the complicated mind (the buttoned down mind). His humor was always very deadpan and clever. The Bob newhart show was funny it was a show for smart people existing in a world full of people who aren't as smart. He was his wife and one of his shows was Suzanne pleshette and who was really just this beautiful woman.

I don't know what he's done recently I hope he didn't spoil his image by doing some of these terrible shows but you know a lot of the good ones are a disappearing and I haven't seen anybody with the sophistication of previous entertainers from the 60s through say the '90s that have come along to replace them and I don't think that's just because I'm old. Maybe there are some clever ones but I really haven't seen them. Most of the newer comics are relying more on insults and vulgarity to get a laugh or sexual explicitness to get a laugh which you know I mean after you've heard all the sex jokes there are that ceases to be as funny.

Anyway I'll look for his album title and you know it's interesting to download if you can find it
