What does it matter if you know the red and blue political parties are simply different brands to target different demographics, but are owned and operated by the same group? If most people believe in them, vote in their 'elections', and pay income taxes to finance them, that perception holds the power.
If most people continue believing in the 'ear nick', Trump gains enormous political leverage. Being right about reality doesn't "count" if few others share your perception.
