An anonymous T-Mobile employee has criticized the carrier for implementing sales metrics that might be leading to sketchy sales tactics.
A Redditor also claimed that three T-Mobile stores refused to sell them a phone without buying additional accessories and insurance.
The carrier has since told employees to report such “unsavory tactics” to their superiors.

Every company I've ever worked for that has a product like this has abusive sales tactics.

It's pretty much universal at all companies today. Even movie ticket sales popcorn sales just every product they try to get you extra 20% gouge

I have T Mobile as my provider, and I just bought a new phone last month. They automatically sign you up for insurance and it's on you to call to cancel it. In another recent experience, like two weeks ago, my wife went to the MetroPCS/T Mobile store to inquire about a family plan for our phones and tablet. This particular store is staffed primarily by Colombians, same nationality as my wife. They quoted her for $85/month for all our devices, but she needed to call customer support to change it. They also told her that customer support was gonna try to charge more than that but to tell them it was quoted at $85 at the store. Sure as shit, they tried to tell us that it was gonna be $120/month for all our devices. After she told them that she was quoted less they immediately relented and stuck with the $85.

I've been using this company for close to 15 years. Generally speaking I've had a good experience. I always get cheap phones because I break them or lose them. Last time I only paid $150 for a phone, screen protector, and case. Not too bad in my opinion but that other shit is definitely shady.
