It's dogshit and has always been dogshit. My last whack at it was when I had to make a developer account with Apple to program on the stupid thing. I had to actually buy hardware to do it. For one project in one class.

Fuck them.

Thought it was in that post, but the reply someone made about the utility of linux/windows/mac must be elsewhere. Essentially, that's the order of capability vs useability, with Mac OS being the most useable.

I've used the Mac OS since 1984 and have never had a problem updating the OS. Both linux and windows updates have deleted user data a number of times. Same for basic operations.

my favorite onedrive experience is when I said fuck off and then it permanently deleted all my docs/pics/desktop

Mac OS being the most useable

mac os pisses me off at every stage. at default config it is infuriating. all the hotkeys are retarded, if you want to scroll down it scrolls up, the close/maximize is on the other side of the screen, and nothing cool works on it. its singular benefit is imessage which lets the luser speak with other macos lusers using a proprietary messaging app that is not available to anyone else.

IMessageTypeAdder.class

Just searched for whatever imessage is, and it's a tiny file from December 31, 1979. 277 bytes.

default config?? There's nothing that comes up for that.

Are you sure you're using the Mac OS? I've never heard of or experienced any of that. Hotkeys are whatever, but it's going to depend on what keyboard you're using. I have three different layouts in two wireless and one cabled. Have a PC wireless I haven't charged or linked yet.

What mac are you using? This iMac is a 2013 model that hit the OS update limit, but I have a new M3 iMac I have yet to plug in.

I use Artix linux, btw.

My clients use MacOS. The reason they use it is because they can use imessage. I have not found any other reason that they actually need it, there is no other exclusive feature a windoze can't perform.

edit: the app is called messenger or messages its the green square with a white chat bubble

default config?? There's nothing that comes up for that.

default config is the config that macos ships with default. with shit like "natural" scrolling, which should be named backwards scrolling. and the hotkeys are all gay, as in, ctrl alt meta.

Macs are for hipster faggots.

I use it for my less technically inclined family members. I’ve had an iMac set up in the family room for everyone’s use. It’s easy to use and robust. Most problems are solved with a reboot. Applications are simple and straightforward.

I have the PC in my den for my use.

PC means personal computer. PC is not an operating system.

Yes, I can run multiple OSs on my PC so I didn’t tie myself to just one operating system in my statement
