I've been unemployed for 1.5 years now. Just too busy with housework and jaded from bullshit. I am sick of frontend development, I used to write backend PHP before switching many years ago. I'm thinking of making the switch back to Java or C#.
I looking for a stable career with stable tools and not having to learn the hottest garbage to keep/get a job only to replace it with something else 3 years later. I hate the FE development ecosystem, it's full of dumbshits who build garbage, immature tools that never actually reach full maturity before being replaced.
My concerns are... Java and C# is full of pajeets. I don't want to work in a 50% pajeet company that obviosuly prefers to promote/hire from their own race, because let's face it, people are racist, some hide it better than others. And the other concern is... well, I don't know what to expect. I don't doubt my skills, I learned programming in C++ and Java, I think I will do fine in that regard, I am just worried of some nonsensical bullshit like frontend is. Anyone care to share their thoughts?
I should probably ask this on Reddit but fuck that place.

Good luck. You're gonna need it.
Software industry is woke DEI garbage with zero loyalty from companies to employees, so people don't stick around because they know they're gonna get shitcanned at the end of a project.
Infinite stand-up meetings, neurotic feminist managers, incompetent retards promoted everywhere, 80 hour weeks to produce variations of the same widget, companies flooding with false job openings to hire pajeets.
It's bolshies, pajeets, and jews all the way down.
At 1.5 years unemployed, just get any programming job you can. After about six months, you can be picky and bounce if need be. You will be asked about the time off, so come up with a good excuse (housework and jaded is not going to cut it).

Right? I got burned out. My second to last job the company was bought out and I got laid off. The last job I don't even know why they hired me, they had almost no work, I lost my skills. Then I had to buy a house and deal with repairing it, rather than spend thousands. I was burned out and bitter. I needed to forget.
Say something like you saved up and went on some sabbatical to sample every thai hooker you could find in Thailand but now you're ready to go back to work.
Exactly came here to say - you’re almost certainly gonna get chewed out and phone-call- hung up on by a huge percent for nothing but the 1.5. This shit wouldn’t have happened like 10 years ago but it’s what’s happening now.
Hah, I definitely don't! But starting a business with no knowledge or funds is impossible. Maybe once I get a job I will have enough spare time/energy to start something and then quit once it's reliable.
[ - ] Sector2 1 point 11 monthsJul 12, 2024 16:06:22 ago (+1/-0)
Depends on the business, but keep checking out different types of businesses even before you're ready to start. That will build up your general and/or specific knowledge base. And remember it's better to get the typical one or two failures out of the way while you're still young and not financially trapped.
[ - ] Kozel 1 point 11 monthsJul 12, 2024 16:45:37 ago (+1/-0)
Starting a business costs $35 at the county clerk recorder. Just file for a fictitious business name. And then file for an EIN on the IRS website. Now you can do business as that business name and can accept payments in that businesses name. You certainly have the knowledge to make a business writing or analyzing backend php code. But getting clients is the difficult part. You can start finding clients on upwork or something similar.

For now build your own site and let people sign up with recurring charges.
If you want software expertise, find a company that has old people, if everyone is just out of college they have never maintained anything.
Almost anything Microsoft - sucks shit, because they make money via change, so they constantly change things not for the better.
If you want to work with a good group find a small company near your house - but small companies can be insane, so read Glassdoor and consider how you are treated during an interview.
With companies actually their corporate mission statement matters - really think about what it says about their work environment, if a company is at all unethical do not work there as they will not treat you ethically.
The problem you are running into is enthusiastic morons. If you make your own thing and partner with others you might be having fun again.
VR dev here that needs a C# programmer. Want some contract or equity share work on a couple of Quest/steam games? I'm the front end art guy and hate C# programming...
TOOLS? society's problems stem from the twisted definitions used to describe something totally unrelated to the application they're being labeled as...tools are implements traditionally used to scape, construct or configure ie homes, ships, gardens, industrial facilities missile launchers etc, today a kid talks about his "tools" and he shows his SD CARD or sloppy disc or even something that isn't tangible but looks pretty on a computer screen....try making a 3/4" threaded bolt with proper thread pitch out of a 1" piece of square stock using only an SD card and see how useful of a tool it is...terminology and clown world go hand in hand today and it's no wonder the world is fucked.
I have no fucking clue what you're trying to say. Are you saying that using the term "tool" is not appropriate in software development? The lathe that makes your bolt is very much the equivalent of something like Babel or Webpack. They are tools, they help built the final product, like your bolt. These are tools that build code.
Have you ever built a lathe from scratch or any other tool? It's the same thing in software. We write code to help us write code. We use them over and over in different projects. Just because it's not made of physical material doesn't mean it's not a tool. You're overreacting.
Zyklon just pissed that we forget how-to build tangible goods that build up the world we live in. We buy that shit from the chunks now, western society is stupidly dependent on foreigners for even the mosst basic parts required to keep civilization going. Related to this somewhat is, somewhere in a financial or economic article I recently saw, mentioned that in the previous year, 75% of all industrial robots were purchased and installed in China, leaving the paltry 25% remainder tobe shared by the world. We are talking massive number of factories of complex industrial machining and automation that every year open up in China... And when the crap is automated you wont get the shit quality of industrial parts that was typical of China till now....
This might not be what you want to hear but get into AI. Learn everything you can and then start trying to help with AI projects. That's the blue ocean.
For the top go getters maybe. There's a good few years in dev/devops being stable reasonable earners for those that can't be arsed with AI. Or so I tell myself
Sure, you are right. But last time I checked, every developer job you could find would have 1-2000 applications. AI jobs too, but at least that is new tech that people don't yet understand.
Pajeets only do data entry. They are programmers at best. Once you get into REAL computer Science and REAL engineering, the pajeets evaporate and you are left competing with Whites and Jews. The downside? You better have an IQ of 130+. You can't fake what you are trying to get into.
Keep in mind any poop colored person in that profession are fakes and liars and scam artists. They will destroy you even if you're right. Get out of programming.
If you can do C++, then try embedded/firmware development. You will need some electrical engineering skills, but not that much. Very good stability, and not that many non-whites.

You can do business as yourself. Or you can get a fictitious business name and do business as yourself doing business as a business name.
It costs about $35 for 5 years to get an FBN.
