Hey, a ketotic diet can be seriously therapeutic for somebody who needs to turn things around. There's no doubt about that. There are multiple diets that will achieve similar results, and they aren't as extreme. But, practically speaking, sometimes the extremes assist people with staying motivated. On a per mass basis, there is nothing more nutritious than eating animal tissues. Period. If you kept dairy in the mix with this diet, it would be pretty balanced.

But, I'm skeptical about doing any diet like this for the long term. One thing to consider about human physiology is that, in the long run, we benefit from eating things that challenge our bodies, like plants. Eating a diet consisting only of easily digestible materials is, again, therapeutic as an elimination diet, but it will deprive you of some of the benefits of a more omnivorous diet, like the uptick in antioxidants that happens in your body from eating plants. Plants produce a whole array of chemicals that slightly agitate your intestinal immune system, which results in hormesis, a kind of overcompensation in anti-inflammatory 'measures' as a respone to micro-inflammation.

I'd advocate an omnivorous elimination diet for a longer term solution. But when I said "dumb fuck" (diet), I was thinking mostly about the way they market it.

That's pretty much what I settled on after the carnivore period. Added back in some vegs like cauliflower and then on the weekends I'll allow for like a bun for a hamburger or breaded fish. Sometimes even a desert. Not ultra strict but way better than I had been.

People like Jordan Peterson, Trump, etc who say lots of good things and a lot of retarded things, I try to just appreciate what good they're doing. They're way less retarded than most people. Or at least they're controlled opposition that normalizes certain topics.

Basically everyone on the standard american diet with all it's processed foods and refined carbs would be way better off on the Peterson's diet than what they're eating, for example.
