Have any of ya'll seen this 'Black 4.0' spray paint? Its actually cool. Is it worth $50 a can? Probably not

The idea behind it is that the physical structure of the paint reflects photons into the structure, and the photons just keep on bouncing around until they become infrared.

What you don't see in the video is that it's not like paint in that it dries to form a smooth surface.
It's more like dust.
It's very fragile and can be brushed off or blown off or rained off.

So, there aren't many applications for it outside of demonstrations.

Oh I didn't know that. I was gonna get several cans and paint my UTV but guess that's out. I'm sure @Thebigguyfromqueens will want a can so he can SPRAY PAINT HIS MUH DICK BLACK or some such thing.

That's not that steep compared to other super-blacks like Vanta, Singularity, Or Musou, of which absorb between 99.2%-99.7% of light. 4.0 claims to block 99.95%.

Not sure if it's nanotube-based like the others though.

I'm not sure about infrared, because at least one of them (Musou) can absorb it. I think it mostly just converts to heat radiation.
