The PCR "test" is an oxymoron of science, while it did work early on in showing people that would likely get sick. The quality of the tests deteriorated in a direct correlation as it got more and more mass produced. It's a diagnostic protocol and not exactly appropriate for the use case it ended up getting. Pharma likes money though, and government paid for them. So they did it anyway.
