I'm being TIC here. Bluegrass and other folk music traditions are both rich and replete with talented and creative performers. The cliche of the dumb, dunk, toothless hillbilly picking away at a banjo is a caricature.

Earl Scruggs was a master player and innovator who, sadly, most people would never have heard of if it weren't for the Beverly Hillbillies.

Gotta separate the art from the artist on that one. His latest album, My Bluegrass Heart, is flawless and entirely instrumental. It's genuinely just a celebration of bluegrass music.
