I've found it definitely leads to independent thought. When you're around other humans, you tend to conform to the group consensus.

The "assange is a good guy who's on our side" bullshit is a good recent example. People literally disbelieve their own eyes in favor of the groupthink.

It’s dangerous if you’re weak. These prison films spin solitary confinement as the ultimate punishment. I would love that. Peace, quiet, no niggers. I would shank the warden in the dick to get a private cell.
