Glider pilot problems. Almost every one of them has a story about how they forgot to latch the canopy or almost forgot.

It's weird how it's not part of the standard checklist, but always gets penicled in later!

You're right, we can give her credit for that... but this should never have happened in the first place, it's her responsibility to make sure her plane is in 100% working order.

That said, if this just happened because of a malfunction or broken part that caused the canopy to come loose, then it's not her fault, and her calm, level-headed handling of the situation was perfect.
