That’s a very good point, I’m armed all the time and I try to avoid any and all situations where I have to prove I’m armed. I live in an anti self defense state and am guaranteed to spend a little time time in jail if I have to fight for my life.

If you do have to use it, run. Maybe you get away, maybe the catch you and you tell your lawyer that you panicked because you feared for your life. Either way, in a state like that, get insurance. One that's been known to pay out.
