How: plan is to find land within the next couple years and build our housebarn...will have a more practical place for livestock when the time comes.

Haven't gotten that far as to source all the material and inquire contractors or builders.

Big expense will be trying to find a relatively level spot without needing to dig a basement. If I already had a lot purchased, I'd likely be further along in planning.

Main budget will be keeping this less that $450k...should be possible.

Need to have a more practical plan, but at least a half acre garden. Would want to get berry bushes and maybe an apple tree or two. Odds are chickens to help deal with bugs, a few cows for beef, maybe a donkey to deal with coyotes. Not a fan of most other livestock and I have no practical purpose for a horse...unless we're going back to 1790's technology.

After moving here and growing flowers, discovered yellow finches eat zinnias and hummingbirds will drink from snapdragons. Hoping the lupines make it to year two and my carnations are starting to bud.

Nature is way better than society.
