All my family take pills for thyroid. I'd love to avoid that. Currently, my numbers are slightly high and there's increased bloodflow to my thyroid (supposedly normal with my numbers) but nothing to by concerned about...yet.

Consider thyroid function tests but they are not perfect.
The cause is dietary. The thyroid works with your gut health. Stop taking anti biotics. The thyroid works with the liver. Stop taking pain meds. Drinking alcohol and eating fructose.
Eat grass fed red meat. Plenty of iodized salt. Get women off of the pill. Eat tallow or lard for cooking. Take vit d and k2 and magnesium.
Vit b is somehow linked to thyroid as is auto immune.

Once cleared after 3-4 months one can start the isolates and start systematically eliminating the shit diet. Kozel is right, iodine is thyroid food, but before you take iodine, you have to get the bromide out of your system. Drink a shot of brine twice a day for two or three days, then take a whack of iodine in a shot of water, and stay clear of bread which is where they add the bromide. Iodine & bromide compete for uptake and bromide always wins out, even though it's really bad for you.

My theory is that bromine is merely an extremely useful and versatile element that can create tons of functional (both good and bad) compounds... both biologically, and in the chemical industry. This is where you hear stuff like "there is flame retardant in the food" because they can make flame retardant from bromine.
It's also hard to find Anything about foods that have naturally occurring Bromine. Like.. a research paper on brazil nuts was the only source I could find.

You are overpushing your thyroid and forcing also your kidneys to filtrate. Its not healthy in long term. Cutting it to one drop a day is enough to provide all the iodine you need.
Iodine deficiency causes goitre and a host of other problems particularly during pregnancy, it is treated with seaweed, either raw kelp off of a beach or kelp tabs from a health food outlet.
Would love to know. On levothyroxine. Appears there's not much in the way of natural foods/supplements that i have found so far. Any ideas from you medical people?
