Who here is supplementing Iodine?

Who is supplementing Iodine? Just started supplementing daily in a trial of self-experimentation. I have nothing to report other than no adverse effects in two weeks.

What are you guys supplementing? Figure these discussions are mostly constructive. Learned a lot of vitamin C from a rather angry user yesterday and have that book on my reading list. Happy Friday.

I add 4 drops of J.CROW'S® Lugol's Solution of Iodine 2% to a 3 gallon water dispenser on my counter every time I fill it up.

No adverse effects, been >4 years.

Using Diamond G Forest Products' Healing Pine Salve daily reduced a lot of inflammation for me. As has high-strength CBD oil, which I usually only use once or twice a month (5-7 drops of 1500mg).

The largest help in inflammation reduction for me happened recently and has been switching to freshly milled whole wheat.

Just so people know, iodine will turn directly to a gas and evaporate the first chance it gets. It's best to keep it in the container it comes in until you drink it.

I take 5 drops of J.CROW'S® Lugol's Solution of Iodine 2% when I remember to. Ideally would be once per day, but isn't. Same with a multivitamin, B, E, CoQ10, and several others. Try to have a couple grams of C in water a couple times per day. Got the kilo from bulk supplements.

Thanks for sharing. I was unaware how much bromine we’re exposed to on a day to day basis.

I’d always rolled my eyes at vitamin C as it seems everyone and their mother swears by it. Although it’s interesting people tend to only take it when they are sick.

One lemon contains around 31 milligrams (mg) of vitamin C

I'd be eating lemons all day to hit a gram. That would take around 30+ lemons.

Mostly to mitigate my somewhat erratic diet and eating schedule. It goes through your system in a few hours, so a couple times per day isn't all that much. Usually add the two 1/4 teaspoons, some juice, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, then fill the cup with water.

I have the Japanese version of those. 'Oblate discs', made of potato starch. Sounded cooler before I had them in my hand. Realized if I'd need those to swallow something, I'm not going to.

This piqued my interest. I don't take any supplements because I never saw the use for them, but with OP's post, I began to think how deficient in nutrients out food supply has become. I try to cook my own food with some raw ingredients, but some things I can't make without a lot of work and preparation (like bread). I don't eat that much these days because I'm old (late 60s) and my metabolism has decreased. But I find myself experiencing a significant lack of energy and fatigue.

Frankly, this has been going on for a while, and I'm getting pretty sick of it. A light reading about Iodine tells me I might do well with taking it as a supplement. I read OP's previous post, and it sounds like he's definitely smarter and better informed than I am. I'd like to ask anyone here about their experiences with supplements and their advice on how I might begin. Thanks, all.

I take vitamin k, d, and c. I also take zinc. Haven't been sick since I started them.
Like you I have been reading all these posts about iodine and other supplements. I do believe that I could use more iodine so I'm probably going to start that soon.

That's for the response. I bought liquid 2% Iodine, which arrived this morning. From what I've read, there's a great deal of misunderstanding in regard to usage and dosage. I don't believe one can take too much, since the body will excrete the excess. I'm starting with two drops in the morning and see how that goes. My mother had thyroid problems all of her life and had surgery for symptoms related to hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism and had to take a supplement all of her life as a result.

I'll look into K, D, C, and zinc. I seem to have a robust immune system and haven't been sick since the mid 2010s, so I'm very fortunate. I just feel my body is lacking something, and it feels like it's proper nutrition. I don't trust most food, especially processed food, to provide much in the way of nutrition, so I thought supplements would be a good place to start.

Boosts testosterone. I do 1220mg and take 3-4 which is a huge dose. It takes 3-4 days but you feel the swol. Don't expect results in the same day.
It is relatively inexpensive as far as supplements go. I buy the bulk size.

Some people here seem to think that the food grown in this country is still the same as it was 80 years ago. It is not. Fresh vegetables and other produce are sprayed with toxins, fertilized with questionable chemicals, and grown in sub-standard soil. It's industrially produced and has a fraction of the nutrients (and flavor) produce had decades ago. A person can eat "naturally" and still not get enough nutrition to sustain himself well.

Iodized salt has fuck all iodine in it, and if you're buying bread off the shelf, or even baking your own bread but with common flour, you're eating so much bromide, you're not getting any iodine. Bromide and iodine compete for uptake, and for some reason, your body prefers bromide.

Sea Moss
Mushrooms Reshi,Chaga,Turkey Tail and Lions mane.
Dandelion Root
Stinging Nettle
Milk Thistle
Turmeric, Ginger and Elderberry just to name a few.
Beer with celtic salt is also a regular.
Liquid IV is decent electrolytes for the price and twice a day everyday.
The rest is rotated weekly,evenly and most important consistently.
I don't take any of that shit as a supplement,I do it with pure intent for MY REASON.

Bioavailable Vitamins

Provitamin A carotenoids can be as low as 6.5% bioavailability whilst Preformed vitamin A can be 80% +.
An adult needs 900 micrograms of VitA (700–900 mcg) and <3000mcg.
Where can it be found naturally? Fish, eggs, dairy, green and orange vegetables, basically everywhere.

There are several types of every vitamin some arent readily accessible, some you cant aborb much or effectively.

The only people that need vitamin supplementation are pregnant women, elderly and chronically ill, to correct vitamin or mineral deficiencies.

It's mind-boggling that people willingly support big pharma with junk that is often toxic, counterintuitive as some vitamins block absorption of others, it's expensive and rarely of at all does much of anything other than stres your organs and give you ass cancer.

These dorks could eat one fresh medium orange and be provides 83 mg of vitamin C, which is 92% of the DV + other minerals costing 62cents. Or eat some retarded pills all at once in a multivit from [retard branding] company for $50 and give themselves limp dick and an itchy asshole.
