I quit a drug problem I had. I started drinking everyday for the withdrawals physical and mental for maybe 3-5 months idk. But when I stopped drinking. I got this rush everyday. I was so high on life. It was nuts. So if I wasn’t stupid I could have had that without the booze. Just a fact for anyone reading this

I drink because I am exhausted and sore every single day. For 2 hours a day the pain and most of the stress is subdued.

I'd say more like a combo of used dishwater and dirty socks. Not the actual taste and odor, but it was such an unusual taste that that's what I thought of.

Not the same. Lightly marinate, lightly season, and sear it real good. It's not comparable to slathering in steak sauce.

Ribeye at room temp with the fat seams pounded soft. Cast iron pan super hot with smear of lard. McCormacks Montreal Steak or Lawrys. Cook fast to med-rare max. Or sear one side and 175 for an hour or so until it falls apart. Let rest a few. Unsalted butter to finish it off. No sauce needed. Green beans boiled and sauteed with mushroom garlic and reduced white wine. Eat whole sweet potatoes instead of empty starch.

Getting something done and working towards a goal is the best endorphin rush I get these days and it lasts. That cycle of frustration high and drinking because of failure goes nowhere.

The first thing is to change up the routine. Drink water or tea, go somewhere new, get some exercise, and lose whatever toxic influences are hurting you and sap away energy. Don't waste time on something impossible to change. We are born alone and die alone. In the meantime..

I still fuck with bbq because it’s low effort and flavorful but honestly I’ve worn it out. I’m onto fish now. Probably going to switch to meal replacement shakes that are meat and egg based and not even think about cooking anymore.

Big fish fan myself, favorites are orange roughy and flounder. Prferably breaded and pan fried, but baked with a few drops of lemon juice works for low effort.

I eat a lot of herring/sardines and mackerel. I like King Oscar because it’s a higher grade of fish but I don’t like their foil lids. I want it properly canned. Polar is good enough for me.
