When did eating like a pig become common place?

Seriously, some of these people simply can't eat with their mouth CLOSED. It's like listening to a cow eat or something, its disgusting and it irritates me to no end. Like seriously, how hard is it to eat with your damn mouth closed, like a normal person. I looked it up and apparently the condition is called misophonia. I didn't realize being disgusted by someone eating like a fucking cow made ME the problem. Fucking jews

Thats not misophonia. My wife has misophonia. We eat properly and it still drives her crazy. We have to eat with loud music playing.
People eating like pigs makes her want to commit murder.

I have it too; it sucks. It developed in my mid-teens and has gotten worse. All mouth noises (smacking, slurping, gulping), sighing, labored breathing, leaf blowers and table saws/circular saws are the worst triggers for me.

Spic here. Our educated people eat better than your average North American, our unwashed masses eat like pigs. If you come from a good family you will have manners. And it honestly has nothing to do with money. There a poorer but proud and educated families and rich but they they are not part of upper society no matter how much money they have families. It’s more about background. And the better families tend to be whiter too.

My grampa Relished every bite he ate. He made quite a bit of noise doing it. Even crushing bone to get to the marrow.
It never bothered me. I chalked it up to growing up in the depression. They sometimes didn't have enough to eat. Sometimes they didn't have anything. When they Did get something to eat they Really tore into it.
I have a sibling who was born with a harelip and cleft palate. Poor kid, made All Kinds of noises all the time, and couldn't help it.

Individuals with misophonia, which afflicts up to 20% of people, feel anger, disgust and a desire to flee when they hear certain sounds. Chewing and similar noises from the mouth are most often associated with the condition.

Normal mastication should produce little audible sound. Crunchy foods excluded, obviously, but otherwise chewing should not be heard.
