there will always be some kind of UI element to report the ad which will be automatically picked up by adblockers

Make the ad inject a random UI element that the server knows. Use JS to AJAX call to detect it. If not there, no video.

E: Actually, that could be defeated. Nevermind.

YouTube has been great for learning a lot about the world. If I am forced to watch ads I'll just go outside.

If they expect me to pay then I expect them to stop banning creators. comments, ideas. I will never give them a dime unless they do that. which they won't.

This.

Everyday youtube begs me for money.

Everyday they treat me like a mortal enemy

Not only is their ad-free service expensive which no one with a brain should pay, jewtube regularly censors my non-political comments and it seems like it's random too from a bot just so they can say it's not targeted and play dumb about it.

Expensive? Na they do exactly as they claim with zero ads. Only one in a month I have seen.

That was because of a weather event and the stations media player showed some mattress ad before the feed started. That is at least 12.99 worth of minutes in my life.

Granted I don't like it either, this being the new normal. Besides when did it become the duty of these companies to observe and honor your rights?

We need to stop treating companies as people in our legal system, that is until Texas executes one.

JewTube need to just die, or be forced to stop it's monopolistic behavior in the marketplace. Google Inc. has gone out of it's way to kill off competition with lawfare, and more.

Brave Browser can, and will counter everything they attempt to do to force ads.

No video is worth watching an ad. uMatrix works for any unwanted page element that has a unique address, and "now let me talk up my sponsor" can be skipped past. If ads are forced, then forget youtube.

They're planning on randomized server-side injections into the stream. The only possible counter to that would be to preload a video through another party that uses AI to remove the ads. That's time, processing, and data intensive. You can twiddle your thumbs as you wait for your video to be scrubbed.

Best to see this as a blessing in disguise and hope these fucksticks hang themselves with their greed.

timestamp the i-frames in the original video, skip ahead when it unexpectedly changes

but there will always be a blurred out skip button or something easier to detect whether an ad playing

Anyone who posts on you tube for maximum coverage is dreaming. THey should be posting on at least one indy site as well. They should understand what an indy site is, and that's the difficulty of dealing with school caused retardation in the masses

Rumble is in the best shape to take the market for general content. It could and should be viable if youtube continues pissing people off. Bitchute cucked out. The LBRY blockchain-based network that powers Odysee is a good proof of concept for better projects in the future. The network is sluggish though, Odysee's UI is kinda crap, and I don't trust its creator. It's still worth keeping an eye on from a technical standpoint.

The other alternatives are either almost as bad as youtube, or not equipped to handle a youtube exodus. I remember when Tim from Military Arms Channel started Full30 in attempt to get guntubers to migrate. He was fairly successful in that regard and a lot of major channels joined, but normie users were stubborn and frankly, the site sucked nads.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

I've noticed (when I've had to watch YouTube without adblockers) that sometimes they have that "skip in 5" seconds count down on a 5 second ad, but when it gets to 0 instead of being able to skip it launches straight into an unskipable 6 second ad. This I think is an artefact from the function of and ad say, 30 seconds long, that has the first 5 seconds forced and then the next 25 are skippable but if you don't skip you have to watch the entirety of the second ad or at least wait out another 5 seconds for a new skip option.

No wonder they are trying hard to beat ad blockers now even normies are missed off enough to learn.

It's just a slow motion suicide.

[ - ] Clubberlang 0 points 1 yearJun 14, 2024 14:54:59 ago (+0/-0)

I haven't had a problem

[ - ] boekanier 0 points 1 yearJun 14, 2024 05:34:46 ago (+0/-0)

then we will be watching ads and more ads, and apart of that: ads
