I just use Brave with the Adblock extension.

Every time yt gets squirrelly, Adblock usually just updates again within 24-48 hours, and we're good.

Brave has become my dedicated youtube browser despite hating chromium-based browsers. So far I haven't had to go through the bi-yearly ritual of finding new filters.

I don't recommend adding manual filters, especially for popular sites like youtube. ublock origin will update in a day or two and fix the problem. Meanwhile these rules will stick and may trigger youtube's anti-filter scripts in the future.
