I wonder if it was actually cold weather, or if Clinton had something to cover up.

I used to hate the 70's as the worst times in my life. Crappy interior design (carpet walls and wood everything stained dark brown). Orange and lime green colors. Tight bellbottoms and wide collar paisley shirts. Disco clowns. Trash everywhere. Gas prices through the roof. USD collapsing. American cars were pure shit and even the lightweight Japanese auto were breaking down because of the new catalytic converters. Middle East in turmoil. Fucked up veterans back from the Nam shooting up heroin in the streets and passing out in gutters. Nigger/cop shootouts in NYC. Nowhere was safe. Everyone on edge.

But when I look back, it was safe to play anywhere in the White neighborhoods. Kids could run around chasing each other yelling with sticks and cops didn't show up with prescriptions and straight jackets. Once outside the city it was all real dusty countryside roads forever until the next city. Birds were noisy and huge bugs everywhere. There were only a couple of channels on tv but the news was relevant. Newspapers had all the facts. People talked with each other and you were allowed to have an honest different opinion. Jobs everywhere you just had to ask. Cops and Soldiers and Firefighters were real men and idolized. Deer hunting and shotguns in the truck window was normal. Food was real and super tasty if you could afford the good stuff. That batty old woman was laughed at as crazy by most folks, instead of being hired as top department head with every word worshiped under penalty of law. There was a side working to make America better and the wacky fringe on the left who were outcasts.

Back then, that food was actually good. The burger was real meat, the bun was made of only a few ingredients, the cheese was still shit, the taters,the onion, pickle and lettuce wasn't monsanto'ed. My mom managed the local BK. I saw what it was back then.
