I’ve noticed that diversity hires get loads of compliments compared to whites - as if whites are instinctively held to a higher standard - and the diversity hires are somehow performing miracles - like monkeys that can manage to replicate something a white man can do without effort.

Same. I’ve even caught myself doing it. I used to have many Hispanic clients at an old job and occasionally I’d encounter one that was decently articulate and able to communicate. I’d start thinking how intelligent they were and then realize that no, they are just average and it’s so unusual that I would elevate them.
