Our household thought we were the shit when our Father brought home a 30 ft extension cord jack thing for the Phone one night. Ah good simple times - no more having to talk on the phone with the entire family in earshot, lol.

Shouldn't pretty much everyone on this site? There's not much I miss about cassettes. As far as analogue formats go, you can't get much worse. It's a compromise format with poor range. I did prefer their portability and physical durability over CDs. A Walkman tape player was more convenient than its bulky, skippy CD counterpart.

The new generations are being exposed to cassettes because they've made a resurgence in the "limited run" category, along with vinyl LPs. I've even bought a few tapes to support some of the niche, small bands that I like.

Bonus points for performing surgery on the tape itself when it invariably unwound and or snapped when taking out of the deck.
Snip off the chewed up tape - fix on little tiny piece of sellotape cut to size match up the ends and good to go (except for the jump mid song).
