They made that their homeland because that was the first land they stole after getting kicked out of Egypt. But you don't even read your jewish holy book or have real religious beliefs so why do you care? If you'd read your holy book about jews, you'd know where they've been.

No, you misunderstand, nobody was swearing an oath to the their priest, but every serf swore an oath to his lord and king. The feudal system was very much dependent on these oaths and dependent on these oaths being near universal. Since the lords and kings were the ones with money and power they corrupted the Church to ensure that passages like Matthew 5:34-36 and similar were never included in gospels read by the priests to the their congregations. Translating the Bible into English meant that congregations could access this information independently of their priests. This represented a threat to the lords and kings, and thus to the benefits the Church and priests were receiving from those nobles.

I don’t get your Bolshevik reference at all. I’m not religious but then neither were the Bolsheviks tbf. Tyrants will always either control religions to serve them or prohibit religions if they can’t control them. You seem supportive of the earlier approach, I would say we’re experiencing the latter, with the powerful groups in society using either religious or pseudo-religious belief systems to control large sections of society. These things can occur whether things are going well or not for any particular church. I favour neither, if religion is to exist it should not bend to the whims of the powerful, if it can’t do that then it is merely an extension of their power.
