Lightning bugs are out wtf

I was sitting out on the deck and fireflies are everywhere. I've never seen'em here this early before. My wife said she forgot to tell me that she seen them two weeks ago. This is very weird. Its usually middle of June or later before we ever see them. They seem bigger and brighter too. Everything was early this year. It seemed like summer has just slipped in very quickly this time. Maybe its because the Sun is at peak and been having a lot of storms? IDK but in my 50+ years on this Earth I've never seen it like this. We usually drag ass through winter and it doesn't get nice here until may 12th or so. Underbrush came in early. I noticed that back in the last couple weeks of March. We don't see that til the start of May.

Weather varies. Bugs and plants work off the weather, not our calendars.

Yup. It's been relatively cool this spring so far, at least down here. Animal populations also depend on both food availability and predation the prior year.

We've also had some bad wind storms here that done a lot of damage. Its been a while since we seen wind like this and at that time of year.

I haven’t seen many fireflies in recent years but I am this year. When I was a kid there was a shit ton of fireflies.

We've always had'em every year but not at the start of May. Its usually towards the end of June.

Lightning bugs used to be almost all orangish in the 70s and 80s around Philly with the rare one being yellowish green. Now they are almost all the latter. The jews did this.
