Tearing apart an old mountain bike and this thing was black with ~20 years worth of crud. You can see a few of the teeth have been worn down to nubs. And that's one of three front chainrings.
They'll all be replaced once I convert it to an ebike, but for now it'll do it's job. I want to have it for the summer riding season and take the winter to swap it over, when everything is cold and snowed in.
I wouldn't invest too heavily in an e-bike just yet, as rumor has it. People are getting injured and killed from e-bike riders, so expect some wicked law, (10 mph max or jail) from the Feds. The Local E bike dealer here is getting out saying no one will want a 10mph e-bike that is soon to be mandated. Battery infernos are a whole nother story.
There are already semi-schizo laws about class. As I'm building my own, it'll follow most of the laws as they know them. Though there's more about pedal assist with or without throttle assist vs 20mph or 28 (yes not 30) mph and all that.
Battery infernos are usually badly made, badly(over) charged, or over-sized. Buy from a well-known manufacturer, use their charger, and don't get a house-sized battery for your bike.

Niggers. I ride very well, been doin it for 40 years, never had an accident with anything other than a tree on the trail. And I have a nice enough bike to get up to traffic speeds without assist already...

Isn't degreaser just an industrial strength emulsifier? IE one side of the molecule binds to fat (oil/grease) and the other binds to water to carry that fat away.
I think what I am saying is you can also just use dish soap and some elbow GREASE. Haha, gottem.
