I hate this reasoning. If violence is on the table, you have to go full-tilt. Otherwise you open up the option of losing. Which has a very real possibility of death. Once someone is willing to use even the smallest amount of violence, all ideas of peaceable negotiations goes out the window.
Also why live in Florida and not have a gun?
