I wouldn't unless you know you will use it when the time comes, and you have the means by which to transport it and everything that goes with it.

Their primary use is for light aircraft and vehicle knock down. Against people it really isn't worth the money to train yourself to be proficient with it.

Is it the M107A1 or the M82A1? If the former, absolutely. No question. If the latter, you should probably pass unless new or very lightly used; you can get new ones between $8k-9k if you shop around. Decent optics rated for it are going to set you back around $2,000.

If he's a total dumbass with a super rare M82A2 or XM500, buy immediately. I once had the opportunity to buy an A2 for $3,500 and the decision to pass still haunts me.
