I started watching anime to fill that goyslop void of hollywood tv watching habits a bit and it has worked. less propagandic and degenerate( still lots of pervy japanese type degeneracy) but it has helped with weening off hollywood slop habits. Also good audiobooks help but I only listen to classics that are 100+ years old and the ones that have that catch to get you sucked in are hard to find( war and piece, the idiot, counte of monte cristo. I prefer more information stuff like I just read vestuvius on architecture, paradise lost, and finished plinys histories but those don't replace the entertainment habit of hollywood like a good drama or entertainment piece, paradise lost might if a modern translation was done well but it is more imagination stimulating with teh language barrier than catchy)

There is one scene in it that I always thought showed a man/dad being the Man/Dad! The two oldest boys were fighting, dad sternly calls them, by their first names, in that dad's "I ain't messing around" voice. Both boys stop immediately. Nice representation of a man having his children under his authority. I always tried to treat my children in such a way that they would have that kind of respect for me. It didn't work, but I tried.
