Ubuntu Linux Cases

Ubuntu (from the wikipedia site):

There are many different (and not always compatible) definitions of what Ubuntu is.[7] Even with the various definitions, Ubuntu encompasses the interdependence of humans on another and the acknowledgment of one's responsibility to their fellow humans and the world around them. It is a philosophy that supports [u]collectivism over individualism[\u].

So, the Ubuntu movement by Mandela is the basis of philosophy for ubuntu linux?

It seems Ubuntu is now "communism for linux".

How apropos for the shittiest distro.

the shittiest distro.

It really is.

Sad. I kinda liked it back v10 and earlier. Or I was just drunk and faggy at the time...

I liked it then too. They polished the debian system nicely and brought many users. It took a while to see the op going on for most though.

That faggot shuttleworth fagged it all up.

Mark Shuttleworth

A fake Steve Jobs copy. I had hopes for their updated "unity" but they just closed shop and abandoned it. I think they "shuttled" him away right after that, but I can't remember.

That does sound about right, but I stopped paying attention to them around that point.

I did get to heckle him one time when he spoke at the Southern california linux expo. Good times.

I did get to heckle him one time.

This is a good bucket list item!

Shuttleworth wanted another linux distro to hit RHEL type of profitability. I still use Debian.

When I sold used laptops by the stack I always dualbooted to ubuntu but I think the last time I didn't have an issue was 16LTS

It's the basis for their access to international banking and finance cartels.

I'm using Zorin linux and it's great for lower end comps.

I loved Zorin, but Nobara is gamer-friendly, with a ton of WINE and Proton programs coming already installed on the kernel.

I've never liked the word 'ubuntu'. What in fuck is that anyway? Sounds like nigger mumbling.

[ - ] Dingo [op] 0 points 2 weeksApr 28, 2024 16:48:54 ago (+0/-0)

... ubuntu ... nigger mumbling.

There actually IS a correlation. Check out the wikipedia page.

Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS (Dapper Drake) was released back in 06, about the first time I tried installing ubuntu on an old laptop. Back then you would go through hell and back trying to get the wireless NIC to work, reading thread after thread on ubuntu forums. Kept me busy, indeed

Is there a ubuntu fork before the gay?

[ - ] lord_nougat 3 points 2 weeksApr 28, 2024 16:37:10 ago (+3/-0)

There's devuan, which is still initd instead of systemd.
I find it adequate for use as a web server and stuff like that. I ran into some weirdness trying to use it as a desktop; I forget what, it was a stressful time where I just needed to get up and running right away for work.

Artix for gaming and other home users

Ubuntu (an overt commie distribution) is a fork of Debian a "community" distribution made by Debby and Ian (((Murdock))). Debian was devoted to being a "pure open source" distribution and relied on the GNU (an acronym for GNU is not Gnu ... yeah, no shit) subsystem founded and run by Richard (((Stallman))).

Are you looking for a good distribution t try that's not gayed up? It depends on your competancy and fondness for the command line, but I could reccomend one if you like. A step WAY above this ubuntu garbage is Linux Mint Debian Edition (one step bay, way less gay). Another example is MX Linux, which I often help friends install because it works on low end machines and has very little gayness (even though it is based on Debian).

Anyway, for me I'm enjoying scanning code before compiling my own stuff. I've got enough going on with the HW backdoors and faggotry.

Ubuntu has always been the gay debian. Then debian went gay with systemd

It seems Ubuntu is now "communism for linux".

Now? That's always been the case. It became popular for being easy to use at a time when linux was not easy to use.

Now? That's always been the case.

I did not explain it well, but what I meant was that "ubuntu" used to mean some philosophy but has now become pervasive as the word to describe a linux distribution. For sure the linux distribution was "marxism for linux" from it's exception as you state.

It became popular for being easy to use at a time when linux was not easy to use.

It really was. I switched back before they did their whole "unity desktop" from gentoo because my friends didn't like to compile stuff. I must say, it really dulled up my senses on linux until finally breaking away in 2016 or so (their switch to gnome3 over unity just broke the UI experience they had going). This was after that whole telemetry fiasco they had (which I turned off immediately and didn't think too much about at the time).

It did take me a long time to see the subversion going on. Now, it's totally obvious.
