Put them in the boxes temporarily before putting them in the garden and didn't think there would be a frost. Not sure if they are salvageable 😣

The bottom one still has tiny green leaves. maybe there is hope for that one.

The potatoes themselves probably didn't freeze if it was just a frost. They may resprout from a new eye.

Looks like my houseplants. I'm switching to origami.

You're brave having things outside uncovered.

Give it a couple days and wait for any signs of life.

I know, I just got impatient. Well, I guess I'll have to take another trip to Menards to save big money 🙂

Great potato famine starts all over again, brace for republicans mobilising.

Potatoes, one of the few vegetables you can plant in the ground, with the most minimal of prep imaginable, and they'll just grow and go wild.

Why on gods green earth, of all things, would you plant potatoes in a box?

It's still early in the season, so I put them there temporarily to grow out a bit before I put them in the ground due to danger of frost. In the box, they are portable so I could bring them indoors overnight. I just didn't think the frost would occur that night. Stupid me

Oh you're only planting a hobby amount, got it.

Get you a tiller, and plant a whole fucking field of them fuckers.

You'll make a lot of friends calling the neighbors over to share in the potatoes (and work of raking them all out of the ground).

I don't plant anything in the garden til May 8th. I do plant things in my risers, like onions, carrots, etc because I can cover them.

you can plant cold-hardy stuff (spinach, kale, broccoli, beets, turnips, etc) earlier

All good farmers monitor the weather.

Yeah, I'm definitely not a good farmer.
