Lost 10 lbs on my new manly diet

I now weigh 178 lbs. Just hopped off the scale. (72 inches tall)
I dont feel any smaller nor look any smaller, my muscles are better defined, not much but a little.
The flab is noticeably leaving my stomach area, the layer is noticeably thinner.

Took about a week. Just became super conscious about it what I was eating (and especially DRINKING).
No added sugars, no caff, none, I might have 1 cup of black tea today. I'm not sure I want to.
Very limited bread so far, was doing 1 piece of whole grain with breakfast, I stopped doing that now.

Breakfast is only sausage, no breads, no grits, I will add 2 eggs if I am hungrier.
Snacks are 1-2 Banana + 8oz whole milk blended in my ninja. I often add 1-2 frozen strawberries.
The bananas and milk make it very filling and satisfying, sometimes I add a scoop of peanut butter (which has added sugar btw).
My new coffee is peppermint herbal tea, 0 caff, its literally just peppermint in water. It's not at all bad once you get the taste for it. I crave it now, same as coffee.

I had one huge scare when I was 182lbs last week, I got all happy and ate 1 cup of brown rice and a can of hormel tamales. It's cheap and good, but wow. I gained 5lbs and shot up to 187. This is apparently normal, it fell right back off (though I avoided the scale for a day and ran twice as long). Today I am 178lbs and slightly less fat. My highest weight was when I was in mil and they feed you a lot so I was 220 when I got out, fairly muscly. Now I'm 178, 10 years older and once my diet is locked in(well on the way), I will go for some raw lean gains. I'm still lifting but not hitting too hard, just keeping my pace for now.

Lunch is salad or ham sandwich without the bread, one day I had a corn dog, but only one, no fries.
Dinner is either a salad or a single 1/4lb Steakhouse Onion patty cooked in air fryer 16min.

I enjoy feeling hungry now, I encourage it then I feed a bit of meat or fruit.
This shit works. I can totally understand how this happens now. I'm into it. I'm hooked.
There was a barrier in the mind, but I got over it, finally.

Most people's weight will fluctuate +/- 5 pounds on a daily basis due to what ever food/water you have in your digestive system.

Check your weight in the mornings, right after you get up. Take a piss, and then step on the scales. This weight will be more accurate because you haven't eaten yet, or slammed a water-tea-coffee.

If you eat something really salty you can retain water weight longer. Weigh yourself once a week in the morning before eating to get a semi-accurate account on how you are doing. That, or look in a mirror and forget the scale, nothing impressive about losing muscle weight.

To add on to this, check your weight once a week, on the same day, in the morning, after your morning constitutional, and before any food/fluid intake. Write it down and keep track from week to week. This is your nominal weight.

As KHK said, your weight will fluctuate within the day and from day to day. Constantly stepping on the scale and worrying about it will only cause you to fuck things up.

I'd drop the fruits and add veg and egg.

During my 30's I didn't keep up with anything I ate. Would just eat and not give it a seconds thought. I got big.
One day while on break at work I was having trouble eating all of the candy bar that I ate every day at break. I figured out that I was eating, because it was a certain time, and not because I was hungry. That hit me as being a dumb way to live. I started right then changing the way I ate.
I am now down to 190. I still want to lose 10 to 15 more pounds. I will lose it, and then I'll Keep it off!

No. I only eat when I'm hungry and stop eating before I feel full. I started deliberately taking my time and eating slowly. And I have cut out a lot of the junk that I had been eating. Really just paying attention to what I eat, when, and why.

something similar happened to me, I lost almost all belly fat in 2 weeks by only eating beef jerky, celery, and carrots. I drank only water and loads of coffee.

I also amped up my workouts slightly. Normally I just do bodyweight but I got a cheap squat rack and a nice bar & weights.

skip the processed meats (sausages, bacon, deli meats) and up your egg intake. Egg is God Tier food. If you have a yard, get some hens.

Natural peanut butter (technically a legume, not a nut) has no added sugar, but a handful of mixed nuts (cashews, walnuts, pecans, hazel nuts) is much more nutritious.

Nice. Being in control is a great feeling. So few have the discipline to deny themselves. I’m proud of myself today because I’m traveling with kids and just bought them lunch but resisted the temptation to buy myself anything. I’m doing one meal a day all week.

Check that rice and tamales. Probably a ton of sodium. That will make you hold onto water weight. You could get some potassium bicarbonate and just take like 1/8 a teaspoon of that every hour for a few hours and that water weight will be pissed right out.

You can go higher on the potassium if your kidneys are good like 1/4 a teaspoon but I wouldn't go much beyond that.
