Jesus was NOT born unto this Earth, to supercede God The Father! Jesus, was born unto this Earth to direct everyone, Jew & Gentile, toward the Father. Christianity started with the God of the Old Testament. Throwing away the Old Testament, would be like editing the StarWars series to only encompass the last 20 minuets of the last & final film. The Old Testament IS our Origin story, and THIS is where we get to meet God the Father! It may have been that God Desired that all people would be Jewish, but, when the Jews denied Jesus, God Rose up the Christians. Every Jew willanswer to God, for their rejection ofJesus! So shall every Atheist, every Muslim, every satanist, every Hindu, etc...!
I believe that the plan was for Jews & Gentiles to unite under God.
