I have no opinion beyond that we allegedly live in a free country. (cue hysterical 🤣🤣😂😂)
However, don't we have a Congress that is supposed to act on things like this??

Yeah congress voted to support. The vote was today.

I have mixed feelings about this. The businesses like them and that is their right to do so, but they are terrible for the populace and given that they do infringe on liberty, I don't think they are morally correct. I say let the Democrats and big business Republicans burn in the same fire. Maybe we can all get new jobs that pay a little more.

The reason businesses like them is that once a worker starts in an industry they can be locked into a company until they can afford to take a few years off of work. This is particularly egregious in high-skill low-pay jobs.

They're not even enforcable anyway.

It's a civil case, and your former employer can sue you out of the company you built to compete directly with them with cause.

we had engineers steal clients and take over our shit and we still didn't have a case to sue. you don't know what you're talking about.

Your attorney blew it, your non-compete had a gaping legal hole in it, or a hostile state government took the side of the nearest Jew instead of you. I know an idiot that tried to build a startup after leaving big corpo and basically had to sell everything he owned just to pay restitution.
