I will never buy a new vehicle. If someone said "hey, take this new vehicle for free" I would sell it immediately.
I won't drive anything that can be remotely controlled, spies on you, won't let you repair it yourself, has cameras, or has terawatt LED laserbeams for headlights.
For the price of a new car/truck you can buy a fully restored antique car with a metal body in cherry condition and make panties drop just starting the engine.
I drove a 2020 Camry SE rental for a little while, and the amount of tech in these new piles of crap is nuts. There's a motor attached to the steering wheel that will jerk the wheel around if it thinks you're leaving your lane. I don't trust anything with a computer that can potentially steer me into oncoming traffic if I piss off a jew somewhere. Preferably, I'd like a car that automatically deploys a drone to said pissed off jew to remove them from existence.
Drove a few fancy rentals during a long haul move. Modern Cruise control is fucking dangerous. The cruise control will hit the brakes once the car detects another car in front. Ok, fine, a little disorienting but kind of makes sense. That is unless it's a curvy road with mountain on one side. When the road curves (no one in front of you for miles) and the radar hits the mountain, it thinks its a car, BRAKES! Whoa hey wtf no we are driving here buddy and you just hit my brakes in a singlelane twoway where everyone is already pissed about being singlefile for the past 30 miles.
I had to stop fucking using it on the cars with radar. It's seriously dangerous. I'd rather full self driving than hybrid driver interference.
Im not talking about dangerous roads. I'm talking about in Arizona where it's 2 lanes at 60mph for like 300 miles It works fine without the radar and the mountain is only one example, cars in the other lane trigger it too.
All you really have to do to trigger it is drive more than 10 feet in a world where the roads are not 100% straight. It's bad engineering.
The same car also had the "jerk the wheel" feature which was also a bad idea. The Cruise control with radar that slows down when it sees the car in front is also bad. This is why now people don't pass each other, they just let the radar latch on and no longer need to control the speed to tailgate.
this person is a liar, like most people. in order for his car insurance to do that they'd need the son to have been shown driving the car on a regular, frequent basis and is likely in fact the PRIMARY driver.
this fag's son had high insurance rates so he registered the car in his name and insured it in his name in order to lower the rates. the insurance company figured out that he was doing this - technically known as "fraud" - and corrected it.
I'm pretty sure someone on here posted details about new vehicles and their privacy policies. Never connect your devices to new cars. Bring an aux cord or use one of those devices that broadcast your audio to the car's radio.
remember the roadside security bill? mandated in cabin monitoring and kill switches in all new cars?
then Six months later
The 1 trillion dollar infrastructure bill, of which 1/2 goes to the new road side security masts, run by major Pete, that will be-placed every 25 miles on federal hiwways? (like 80% of all roads in the US?)
And that pesky 5g to tie it all together...
And you all thought you were getting new bridges and railroads!
Once it all gets set up we'll get another cash-4-clunkers program. And the insurance rates for older cars will shoot through the roof. Which ensures many people will skip the insurance, which then will make all older cars targets for police harassment.
And most people will go along with it. Damn. I was hoping for ubiquitous self-driving cars before the dystopian ultra-control systems went online. At least I'd have had a few years of better driving/riding.
