I mean I know some real stuff that will never be verifiable. Even Dick Cheney tried to cover it up and besides himself maybe 5 people know about it in the entire intel community in the US plus me, plus a small handful in our ally's intel community that actually uncovered it. So like 12 people on the whole planet besides the people who did it.

It's not related to OPs story but Saudi Arabia has coordinated with North Korea on shared missile development. But that's the thing about hushed stories. When the intel community really wants to hush a story they don't even let 99.9% of themselves know about it and zero media. So it will never be verifiable. Nuclear warheads don't get armed until the last second, after being properly released from the aircraft. A nuke does not work like a conventional explosive and it doesn't go full nuclear if you smash it or set it on fire. The way the detonator works is by extremely precise timing of explosions from a shell of shaped charges to create a perfectly spherical shockwave into the core.

Only the electronic trigger can successfully cause all of the charges to simultaniously explode at exactly the same time and go nuclear, and the triggers are safegaurded against unintentional operation.

Someone has to tell the bomb it's OK to go boom.

Nukes don't explode because they hit the ground. Even regular explosive bombs can survive a fall. Nukes require a very special detonation which brings the contained uranium to critical mass and holds it there so more of it can fission. And that extreme explosion is used to fuse hydrogen for an even bigger boom. It's quite fragile and a misfire cause very little to happen.

I've seen this over and over in my lifetime since the fall of the Soviet Union when many things became public that were not publicly known before and every single case of the Soviet weapons are inferior hours was proven to be false. The F-35 isn't the most advanced plane we (and our supposed "allies") have. That title belongs to the F-22. As you said, the 35 is plagued with problems, and since it was a co-op effort, it will never supercede those designed and built in the US. Having dealt with technology from Europe et al, I never encountered really high end tech from those EU countries; in fact, in some cases, the engineers don't even understand the rules in electronics, and come up with really stupid crap.
Russians, on the other hand, are not the same. Those I've worked with were exceptionally fine engineers. In every case. From 1976 through 2009.
