No, the average male can’t lift shit. Be like me and bench 200 or more pounds. You’ll be in the top 2% of humans worldwide. That’s how weak men are today.

assuming this is true how much did you lift when you started

About a year and a half ago I started at 105. I’m in my lower 40’s for an age reference.

At 53 I'm probably still good for 250 on the bench. Did a couple sets of 10 at 185 recently.

This must be brought back. Women shall be fat shamed while men shall be bench press shamed.

I just got some 20 pound dumbbells the other day. Unfortunately, they're Chinesium.

Get yourself some 25 pounds weights here.

Gotta build your muscle up. No shame in doing what you are able to.

That's amazing progress actually. It also depends on your age and bmi. Keep it up.

That’s fine. The deepest and most important point is that you’re always improving. Doesn’t matter how much or how fast. Never settle. There will be plateaus; you can always overcome them.

It'll hurt, keep with it. Ensure you also rest, considering muscles and tendons heal at different rates. Tendinitis sucks.

Focus on technique.

Do you even lift, bro?

[ - ] anon 3411666 0 points 2 weeksApr 18, 2024 23:55:06 ago (+0/-0)

what are you training for? what's your goal? weight might not matter.

but i can lateral raise 40-45 lbs. curl over 100 and i have a small frame. but i've been working out a long time now, so i worked up to it. i think when i started 15 lb lateral raises were intense.

Go with that feeling as knowledge, but do not despair and make it discouragement.
It is truth, and what everyone said here is true. It takes repetition.
Work out one day does fuck all, work out everyday and it gets insane.
Find your current level, if it upsets you, keep doing it in earnest so that you may get the next one. That's what I am currently doing, I remember benching lots more... but now I can't so I don't injure myself, I lift as well as I can and run as far as I can on that given day. The next day is never less unless too much time passes. Don't let time pass. Go do it fuck man I didn't run today and you made me remember I GTG NOW, THANKS ALOT
