What is Michael Crichton's best book?

submitted by Joe_McCarthy to OccidentalEnclave 3 weeksApr 18, 2024 18:41:36 ago (+1/-3)     (OccidentalEnclave)

Finishing up Jurassic Park myself. I'd say of the ones I've read though The 13th Warrior aka Eaters of the Dead gets the nod. A fictionalized account of the Arab Ibn Fadlan's real journey and account of Viking life. These Vikings were Swedes, basically river pirates, and had a barbarian and carefree lifestyle that would do the fuck n' suck very proud. Crichton's fictional account reflects the real world sexual free-for-all.

westworld...Not sure I registered that he wrote that over the years. Read that as a wee lad. Not a bad read for a 12 year old...

Andromeda Strain and Prey, were pretty good. Timeline and Sphere had shit endings, but were good up to then. Next was alright, had some funny talking animal characters.

Jurassic Park was probably my favorite, all downhill from there.

He has a lot of books worth reading.

Other than Jurassic Park, the movies they have made from them were not near as good as the books.

His best idea wasn't even a book. Gell-man amnesia.

All of them except airframe.

Nvm go ahead and read airframe just for shits and giggles.

I looked it over after you mentioned it. Was thinking about reading Sphere - but I don't really have the time for a lot of fluffy books. My reading is more relevant to my offline activities these days.

Airframe. You mentioned it to me before. Some weeks ago.

Thats funny. I didn't read your actual post before I answered. You already read it. Yeah just because when I saw you a few weeks ago mention Jurassic Park I figured you would be going down his books. That book (Airframe) pissed me off because of what a time sink it was.

I read some and enjoyed them, then the next two books had talking monkeys. I actually threw the books out because talking monkeys are gay.
