When my dad died several years ago, I absolutely would have done my best to fulfill that wish if he asked. As it is, when someone dies, the body is considered inviolate and any tampering with it is considered desecration of a corpse and highly punishable by law. I tried to get his titanium hip rod from when he had a hip replacement back from the cremator, but they were adamant that they could not do that. It would have been fitting next to the box of his ashes I keep on my mantle. I had a hip replacement before he did, and I always thought is was something we had in common.

Keeping a memento of the dead with you is an old, old practice. Something they probably don't want to resurrect, as it has it's origins in a pre-Christian White world.
I've looked into that out of bored curiosity before and even stumbled upon an article where someone was adamant about it, and his family actually tried to honor his wishes.
Everyone refused because it's illegal, and even if it weren't, apparently human skin is ill-suited for taxidermy because it's thinner and more elastic than most animals'.

Like I don't need my body to be a prop for my family to remember me at a funeral. That's a waste. A better use of my body is one last communication that they are sub-human shit. And I will feel loved if a friend is willing to go through something that gruesome just to help me send that message one final time.
If you can manage to sneak inside and put a piece of me in their air handler even better.
