To me something feels off about all of them.

No barrel length disclosed. Apples to orange I suspect.

My thoughts around trannys.

Was that 300BLK shooting subsonic through a can?

Regardless of the load, it looks like that round is either being fired through a suppressor or a flash hider.

That's a "Flaming Pig" flash suppressor from Noveske (with a camo paint, maybe Duracoat, job). It suppresses flash, it also has an expansion chamber to increase gas back-pressure to increase reliability in some short-barreled/micro carbine designs.

Since .300BLK can be used effectively in barrels as short as 5.5"-9" (it was designed to replace the use of the 9mm MP5SD6 in the suppressed role in certain units) that use a pistol length gas system, an expansion-chamber type flash suppressor on that type would be a perfectly reasonable choice.

Based on the four-piece design made for the AKS-74U "Krinkov", where it was used for the same purpose.

Is the.410 slug supposed to fire the casing out too? I did not know that.

It’s called a “Wad” it keeps the buckshot separate from the powder in the shell casing. It prevents the force of the powder expansion from filtering through the buckshot and weakening the force of the shot. It flies out with the buckshot but is not part of the shot effect.

Depending on the wad design it can also hold the shot column together a little longer, affecting the density of the pattern and making it more uniform over distance.

Have you ever used Federal Flitecontrol? I was thinking this would be good for drones in a SHTF situation.

[ - ] BulletStopper 0 points 2 weeksApr 15, 2024 18:27:21 ago (+0/-0)*

Tried Flitecontrol in 00B to compare with my handloads to see in there was any real difference in the pattern.

There is a difference and it has to do with the way the fingers are designed and formed and the cutouts on the sides.
It's designed to pull the wad off of the shot column smoothy and in such a way as to minimally disturb the shot column, so it stays more cohesive for longer.

The problem I had was that Federal would only sell FlightControl wads in their own premium loaded ammo, and wouldn't sell the wads seperately, which is understandable from an ammo business standpoint.

So I bought enough to test, and dissassemble, so I could reverse engineer the wads and make my own.

But if you just want to tighten up your shot pattern with just about anything, you might want to look at one of these:

I got one for my Beretta and my own testing shows that it does pretty much what this guy says it does:

For drones you might want to consider something more like this:

Of course. Coffee before comment next time. I promise.
