Does anyone have any suggestions for a side hustle I can do from home that is not a scam or a bullshit thing?

submitted by TheBigGuyFromQueens to whatever 1 monthApr 14, 2024 06:42:59 ago (+1/-0)     (whatever)

Any links or ideas would be appreciated.

That script reading thing sounds like bullshit. AI could almost certainly do that.

I even have probably 4.5 hours of downtime at work that I can dedicate to some other task that will make me some income, I just don't know what I can do.

I talked to a dude who was shopping for a home delivery service yesterday and he told me he makes $400 a week working a few hours at a time, 3 days a week.

He went on to tell me that they paid cash for a new car after saving their earnings for the better part of a year.

Maybe IT support's an option.

I don't know shit about it. I have a CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification. Useless. Just certifies me as slightly more than an end user.

Run a search for "free computer training New York". Look for A+ certification training. If you know any, talk to people you know already working in tech.

I’m not interested in that shit. I took A+ and Network+ years ago. Fucking yawnfest.

How did it pay compared to what you do now?

Same. Help Desk doesn’t pay shit and I hate it, anyway. I’s rather be a garbageman than do IT. It’s not for me.

If that was a part-time option, I imagine you'd be all over it.

No. I don’t know how many times/ways I can express to you that I hate IT.

IT people always think people like me are secretly coveting their jobs because they make a lot of money. No.

I would rather drink my own testicles like 2 raw eggs than work in IT.

Next idea, please.

Most support roles are exactly this.
Check out support.com

support.com is who really answers the phone when you call xfinity/comcast.

I worked there for a time, remotely, work from home even years before covid, its super noob work but its not so bad.
You get to remote in to grandmas puter and remove her malware. The training is actually really good for that stuff.
Good tools too. Basically they pay xfinity many hundreds for virus protection and when it all falls apart they get to call you and you dig the demons out. Honestly the work itself was fun and cool, you'll learn a lot too from your stage.

You must be interested in the stuff.

Not only do I have no interest, but I fucking hate it.

You want a good side hustle? Build children's furniture and sell them. You can make a shitload, the only catch is you need tools.

You can try a freelance gig.

I make a lot of money on Upwork.

However, it's really hard to get started until you build up your profile a bit. You can do anything you're good at.

I started as a virtual assistant and moved into assistant work for SEO/SEM work. I liked it so I stuck with it. Now I'm very knowledgeable in the field.
