Yes it does have nutritional value. Its gray because the farmed salmon has a different diet which doesn't include astaxanthin, a compound found in krill and shrimp.

This is like saying that beef has no nutritional value because the cow ate grains instead of grass.

Hahaha

Grain fed beef is goyslop not fit for humans

[ - ] Kozel 7 points 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 02:02:15 ago (+9/-2)

That's not the debate. You are pivoting and moving goal posts like a fucking kike.

Does it have nutritional value. Yes or no.

[ - ] Belfuro 1 point 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 03:14:23 ago (+6/-5)

Salmon mixed with mercury and arsenic has vitamins and minerals.

Let me repeat retarded fuck.

Goyslop not fit for human consumption.

Feel free to tunnel in on muh nutrition and not join us in discussing the big picture.

- Can't answer yes/no question.
- Knows he's wrong so he pivots and moves goal posts.
- Writes four sentences instead of one word yes/no. (the answer is yes)
- Ashamed he is not correct, instead of owning his mistake doubles down on being a retard.
- Has no reading comprehension and uses emotion instead of logic.
- Has no point to make so he uses swear words to compensate.
- Downvotes the person whom he is talking to like a reddit faggot.

Seems like a play right out of Rules For Radicals to me.

Farmed salmon is not for for human consumption. Fucking goyslop advocates.

Why?

Fucking goyslop advocates.

Point to the instance where consumption of goyslop is advocated.

How would you have felt if you didn't eat breakfast?

nigger-tier retard

Grain fed beef does have less nutritional value compared to grass fed. Grainfed beef is deficient in omega-3. People didn't need fish pills back in the day, or need to eat fish. The land based protein had omega-3 until we fed them grains.

[ - ] Kozel 0 points 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 18:38:04 ago (+0/-0)

Your statement is correct, but the original claim is that it is devoid of nutritional value. And that's simply not true. I'm not going to explain further, anyone that needs further explanation is dead to me.

Golden rule 1

We are what we eat.

Golden rule 2

We are what our food eats.

Avoid unnatural shit especially grain fed beef.

[ - ] King_Leopold_II 2 points 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 02:38:46 ago (+2/-0)

I don’t like salmon. I’ve never had fresh salmon though, heard it’s great.

[ - ] GreatSatan 0 points 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 04:39:52 ago (+1/-1)

It taste amazing raw. Made some dip with some last night with cream cheese.

[ - ] x0x7 0 points 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 10:38:02 ago (+0/-0)*

But don't eat wild caught raw if it is from the pacific. Shits been taking off. 90% parasitism rate. And the pacific has tape worm. I love sushi but I'm off of it because I keep up with current events around it. Now is not the fucking time to eat sushi.

Then there is inclairity if the farmed stuff is good raw. The general convention is that it is and 100% parasite free. It's the word I've heard but I don't know if I trust the claim so that's why I'm off it. Apparently if Salmon is frozen for multiple days that's how you kill parasites but I can't trust 3rd parties to do it right especially if they've been sold fud that "just trust the farm shit" or "just trust atlantic" and they know freezing it will degrade the quality. People are going to look for excuses to cut corners and improve apparent quality. And they will copy practices. Let's say it is ok to just eat atlantic raw, something I'm not 100% sure about. So some sushi chef did his research finds out its ok and does it. Another chef see's him doing it and says "um, don't you need to freeze it." and says no I did my research it is ok. Then the second chef takes what he thinks he understands and starts doing the same thing with pacific.

You think chefs are these highly scrupled and educated people. I can tell you that they are not. Most of them are hispanic in the US regardless of the cuisine. Also there is fish laundering going on long before it hit the chef. Pacific gets merged with Atlantic knowing it will fetch a slightly higher prices. They'll lie to chefs and say the fish has already been frozen for seven days when it's really just been one and they just want to move stock faster.

So then why not just freeze the fish yourself? Because you don't have the flash freezing equipment and your freezing will degrade the quality of the fish even more than if they did it. To the point that what's the point. You'll be eating something of high quality cooked at that point.

[ - ] gardella 0 points 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 10:42:10 ago (+0/-0)

sushi salmon is usually flash frozen to kill the parasites and their eggs.

[ - ] x0x7 1 point 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 10:48:23 ago (+1/-0)*

Research has been done on the industry. What is supposed to happen and what actually happens can differ. I don't trust shit that serious unless I do it myself. And I don't have the flash freezer.

Also the farmed stuff is labeled by the government as sashimi grade. So how many resturants are just using that. But I don't buy the government labels even though a chef might.

[ - ] beece 0 points 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 10:39:07 ago (+0/-0)

True that, if you are eating fresh salmon raw, you risk eating parasites. Freezing and then thawing it is what sushi places do to eliminate that issue.

The problem with farmed salmon is that they are heavily dosed with antibiotics in the feed so that they don't all die. Overcrowding will cause diseases to spread quickly in an enclosed pen, that's why they do that. They do dye it pink as noted upthread, otherwise it's grey.

[ - ] AlexanderMorose13 1 point 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 10:30:38 ago (+1/-0)

I've known a group of doctors who supported the above position. Some of them claimed that the farming methods for fish and salmon don't support the growth the animal the correct way, and that eating them causes more harm than good.

I really haven't noticed too much of a difference in taste or effect myself, personally, but I'm starting to think more and more that it comes down to water quality and efficiency. Most of the fish that are farm raised are raised in giant vats, while wild caught salmon are raised in flowing water. I think that flowing water is the key. Removing something from nature as much as possible diminishes the use of such animals and ingredients that come out of it.

[ - ] yesiknow 1 point 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 09:03:53 ago (+1/-0)

Farmed salmon have their own kind of lice. They get out of the pen and spread it to wild salmon.

Look at those cat food ingredients. Wheat soy and corn.
I see herds of those critters grazing in the fields all the time.

[ - ] texasblood 0 points 2 weeksApr 14, 2024 07:21:50 ago (+0/-0)

The parasitic load is rarely mentioned.
