He displays repeated disdain for the photogs' parents back on farms in colorado and Missouri (not even muh civil warring!) and for anyone staying out of it. As if those people don't really exist. But journalism is meaningful and enduring. As if it isn't local, flammable and based on electronics. These people think human intellect began in the late 1800s.

The characters care about this infinitely deep mission which is to get a quote and a shot. People die and they lose their friends but they don't care because they get the quote and the shot. The quote is from donald trump and the shot is of his dead body.
