Precious metal break out

submitted by Version6 to whatever 1 monthApr 12, 2024 12:18:45 ago (+13/-0)     (whatever)

OK kids. What price do you think gold will level out at or begin to decline?
Do you think silver ratio will close in on gold? Currently it's 80 ounces to one ounce of gold. Curious to hear various takes on the situation.

There is over an ounce of gold in every 5G tower. Just sayin'...

I assume that it would be a lot of work to extract it.

With the right tools and acid it can be done in an afternoon, no problem. At over $2,000 an ounce, seems like a good days work.
I used to know a guy that extracted gold from electronics. The most time consuming part is letting the circuit board dissolve in a bucket of acid

There's a guy on YouTube that does it that way.

Gold is more portable in times of strife, but silver has more "value" to be gained when the ratio shrinks back to historical norms.

The banks, especially JP Morgan, have been trying to hammer down the price of silver for years by printing the fuck out of paper silver certificates, but its physical daily spot swings are only getting more volatile.

The precious metals guys I follow all say the price of silver will skyrocket once COMEX is no longer able to follow through on physical delivery of paper claims. Currently, there are roughly 30 claims per physical oz of silver they possess (or so they claim). One day, that dam will break.

Gold also has the least liquidity at that time.. potentially exactly the time you need it to have liquidity for real good.

We have a surprising number of jewelers on voat. If I were going to buy any metal, it would be extruded aluminum or angle iron.

There's a video series on jewtube called, "The Men Who Crashed The World" and it describes the manipulation of gold prices world wide. El Salvador demanded their gold back from the world bank and it took them months to dig up what they claimed to be sitting on all along.

If silver is going down, invest in that. They're creating a bubble any time there's media hype inflating the prices.

So long as you value gold relative to a failed FRN, the "price" will never decline.

But they why bother? If gold beats FRN always and you own FRN then you would sell and buy gold, and never would you sell back and there is nothing to do. But the point of trading it to care about things that swap performance in different conditions so we have something to act on. Why note something that is perpetually inactionable?

My view. Everything vs USD is going to go down for a short bit. Tax season does it. It doesn't do it the same every year, but when you understand the factors that cause one year to have more tax effect than others you know that this year will be more pronounced than last year. Timing when things recover is a random guess. Some factor has to push them back up, and likely will, but we don't know when those factors will time. But basically if you are someone who happens to be trading right now I would be bullish for now and the next three months.

Once people figure out that alchemy wasn't fucking around, it will all be worthless.

I feel like the ratio has traditionally been closer to 40 to 1 but I haven't been the market for a while. The best time to buy is when it isn't cool. I keep hearing about metal so it must be cool again. I might look around when people start bitching about how they lost a bunch of money and it isn't a good long term store of value.
