"Bread and Circuses" is what diverted attention away from the "WATCHERS"...the "WATCHERS" do as they please because they know that the mob is fixated on sports.
The mob is stuck in a trance and wallowing in it's own drool. It's no wonder the mob is incapable of confronting the eyes that watch over them.

'Professional' and corporate sports are a distraction for the masses. As is modern society. It's cattle and ranchers out there, and the cattle are not about to forsake their own nature.
I went to a hockey championship. My amateur-league three friends playing on a team. The only others in the stands were family and kids of the players, and they didn't seem to care too much. Me and another friend were spectators drinking beers and annoyed the shit out of the opposing team with our endless, semi-drunk cheers and jeers! It was the greatest hockey game I ever saw!
